I purchased the mac cleanse 4 a few years back. Now the new Mac software update is up and it wont work. I looked to see if there is an update but there is none in the App store or website. For me to get the update, I need to purchase mac cleanse 5. This is not a cheap app I purchased ($14). I expected this app to last longer than just a few years. I am highly disappointed. Here is what their website stated: "El Capitan broke MacCleanse 4. MacCleanse 5 has been out for a long time now. Apple is refusing to post our update due to the incredibly strict App Store regulations. We have been trying to post an update for years. You click here to order an upgrade to MacCleanse 5 at half-off!”

And NO LONGER works on my Mac. The vendor will not answer my suppot requests about upgrade. I will no loner BUY anything from KOINGO. P.S. I know what vendor wants is for me to give them more $$$$$, can live without this software, wont happen,

This app version is not compatible with EL Capitan.

Used to love this program. Used it to quickly & safely delete all the cookies, history & crap off my system since Snow Leopard. Worked for awhile on El Capitan, then it didn’t (starts, shows on dock for a sec, then disappears). I agee with all the other reviewers: It seems as though Koingo decided it would be more profitable to seek a paid upgrade than to support long time users. For me that means no more anything from Koingo (most of their software is kinda crappy anyway, but cheap, and always in bundles). BTW, the Koingo website is a mess if you’re trying to find anything (like upgrade paths). I’d love it if someone at Koingo reads this & convinces management to do something.

Stopped working for absolutely no reason so I updated the program to see if it would fix things, but even then, it still crashes. Doesn’t even open up anymore. Terrible.

I bought the program, but I found it is useful in removing all the files accumulated on the machine and help him increase his speed Ive got an important point not after the last actuation retrofit program for Mac Please advise me

Needs an update. It won’t even open in Yosemite.

If you have OS X EL Capitan, -Be Careful. It will Wipe your entire iMessage History completely Clean, even the folder that stores them. Make sure you have some kind of backup just in case. I hope they will fix this in a future update. I had to do a Time Machine backup on (iMessage Archive Folder) to get all my messages back but have NO idea how to transfer them back to the iMessage App. UPDATE Mon, Jan.18 2016 : Corrected the problem of transferring the messages back to iMessage app by using Time Machine to Restore subfolder of “messages” and “containers/com.apple.ichat note, you must do the backup before you did the wash or it will not work.

As a computer security professional, I am extremely cautious of what is left behind on my computer. I’ve used other applications but found MacCleanse to satisfy my needs.

To the person that wiped all imessages just uncheck the box when you go to scan its not the app its you!!! Anyway app works great to me!!! Nice!!!

I have used MacCleanse for quite some time now. It is the best help in keeping my computer clean and fresh. Even when I forget, it reminds me to scan and get rid of all the garbage. The choice is mine as to what or how much I want to delete. The developer, Koingo, keeps up with all the latest and consistantly updates this app.

For $1.99? Come on! I have been using this app for over 5 YEARS! On the SAME computer!!! It has saved me so much time and space. Best app for the price. You will NOT be disappointed. Even the “three star” ratings admit it’s great - they just want more for nothing. But for $1.99!? Come on! You can’t beat it.

I have purchased other Koingo products in the past but this app is not working properly, after launching it takes forever to scan and nothing happens. I tried everything and still same error. Fix this bug soon please!

It has saved me a ton of space on my mac.

I’ve been using this app for years and although I am an IT pro and am very careful about what I put on here and where I go on the web, this is still a very handy way to clean up file scraps and trash and bits of programs left over. Thanks for keeping it updated.

I don’t like the new icon.I preferred the window clearer bottle.But it’s not about being pretty it getting the job done.I was disappointed for a minute when it was not able to keep up with apple updates.But…was most pleased that when they did!Well worth the $.

Great product. I had a rare virus in my Macbook Pro that would not go away. It was a popup that would randomly pop up and let out abour 500 windows instantly. My computer would slow down and I was not able to do any action until I turned off my MAC and waited a day. Now it keeps my computer clean and with one push of the button I can have all of the viruses removed at once. Awesome!!
