This software caused me to have to completely rebuild my Mac

Good news: some parts of this SW work fine, such as deleting unneeded cache files — particularly useful on the MacBook Air with a small drive.

Bad news: this software can also force you to rebuild your Mac form scatch!

I encountered the latter when MacClease stripped needed content from key programs on OSX (Preview, App Store, etc.). It turns out this is a well known problem when you seatch the web (search for missing nib files). Sadly, the only recourse is to rebuild your Mac from scratch. A task that took me well over 10 hours.

It’s too bad because it would be nice to have software that did what MacCleanse claims: reclaim disk space. But if you use any of the more sophisticated features, the consequence is that you may be have to rebuild your system from scratch. :(
